Vaginal candidiasis

What is vaginal candidiasis?

Candidiasis is a vaginal condition caused by overgrowth of the Candida fungus, which is, however, almost always present in the vagina normally.

Candidiasis can be caused, and is caused in most cases by: pregnancy, diabetes, overuse of antibiotics or birth control pills.

Also, other reasons for the excessive growth of the Candida fungus are: poor quality absorbents, which do not let the skin breathe, tight clothes.

However, the trigger for vaginal candidiasis cannot always be identified.

Candigyn - Effective against candidiasis

Candigyn ovule is a medical device used as an adjunct in vaginal diseases.

Contains boric acid, lactic acid, polycarbophil, helping to alleviate the symptoms induced by the imbalance of vaginal pH and vaginal bacterial flora.

Lactic acid normally present in vaginal discharge promotes immediate correction of pH and facilitates the natural recovery of the delicate vulvo-vaginal system.
Boric acid, thanks to its persistence in the vaginal system, helps to reduce the long-term vaginal pH.
Once absorbed into the vaginal mucus, polycarbophil is able to constantly release H + ions (protons), which help lower the pH in the vaginal environment.
